| CD Reviews: Brutal Hand - Unchain The World
|
Posted by: Admin on

Artist: Brutal Hand
CD: Unchain The World (© 2006)
Unchain The World is Brutal Hand's second album--an impressive follow
up to their first effort, Brutal Hand (©2004). Brutal Hand doesn't
play a lot of gigs around town (unfortunately), and they may not be one of Denver's
more well known bands, but they definitely deserve to be heard. Polished, progressive
metal with killer vocals and technical guitar work, Brutal Hand's Unchain
The World contains several excellent tracks, including the album's instrumental
lead-in, "Crystal Palace", the catchy "Out of Time" and "Unchain
The World". Freddy Ferrell's vocal range can be compared to that
of James La Brie (Dream Theater). Many of the tunes on this album deserve a mention,
although there is not room here to describe them in detail. The melody of "Taste
The Fear" will haunt the listener long after the last note fades away. The
keyboard-heavy "Voices" is yet another solid track by this group of
talented, experienced musicians. The final song on the album, "Amon Moloch," is
over 7 minutes long, and segues smoothly from a melodic intro into a much heavier,
faster piece that packs a lot of power into its final two minutes.
If you like tight, progressive heavy metal with strong vocals, be sure to check
out Brutal Hand:
